In recognition of his interest in the traditions of the Fire Service, the welfare of firefighters, and the principles of fire prevention, New York City Fire Commissioner Nicholas Scoppetta designated Jim Rosenblum as Battalion Chief in the Fire Department of the City of New York.   Jim Rosenblum, Nascar team owner, has used his race team to raise funds for the Widows' & Children's funds for the FDNY as well as the NYPD and other local Fire Depts in the United States.  Rosenblum was previously honored by Mayor Michael Bloomberg with New York City's prestigious Liberty Medal.
